Lohja (Finland) - June 2004

Tarbert (Ireland) - September 2003

The North Kerry I.T. Network was our host for a 3-day workshop. They excellently managed to combine hard work with cultural activities. In Tarbert, North Kerry, we learned a lot about North Kerry I.T. Network, its activities and courses. We also met the the members of the staff and voluntary workers. They had prepared an exuberant lunch we all enjoyed very much!

As the chosen subjects varied frome finance to political education, we learned a lot about the different proceedings regarding on-line learning.
Here we planned the final seminar that will take place in Helsinki, in June 2004.

Here are some photos taken during our stay in Ireland:

Brno (The Czech Republic) - October 2002

Eddie Kennedy (North Kerry I.T. Network Ltd, Ireland):
"I met with all the members of the Grundtvig Partnership in Brno in the Czech Republic in October 2002. There were representatives from Finland, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
For my own part I found the experience very stimulating from both a professional and personal perspective.

Everybody was engaged in some very exciting activities:

  • Courses to make citizens more aware of how to exercise their rights;
  • courses on how to become a more effective politician;
  • inhouse devised adult educations courses;
  • virtual colleges;
  • computer-bases administrative and student supports systems;
  • I.T. courses for managers.

When I returned to Ireland I was able to share with the students "my Czech travels". I was able to tell them about all the interesting developments that are going on elsewhere, and they were truly interested themselves.
I think this is a simple but essential purpose of being a part of the Grundtvig programme, namely that, we (both teachers and students) can exchange and share ideas so as to improve and enrich what we are already doing, to consider new and alternative courses that can benefit our communities and to open up the lines of communication for all concerned by email and access to this website."
