Kuressaare is the capital of Saaremaa. The town, located at the Livonia Bay, has territory of about 15 square km and a population of about 16 000.

As in one popular song is said: Saaremaa is the best place in the world. That's why over 1000 young people come to study at the Kuressaare Vocational School. The school is a regional training centre of vocational education that functions in the administrative field of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Target groups are:

• young people with basic and secondary education
• people with specific needs
• adults and young adults
• employed and unemployed people

There are several forms of study:

• have regular daytime studies combined with practical industrial placements
• attend evening and weekend courses
• as an apprentice in the enterprise
• taking courses of different length

The school has 2 study centres, 5 computer classrooms with Internet connection, study workshops, the Guest House, the Hotel, conference rooms, 2 student residence houses, 2 cafes, the Restaurant, served by a modern kitchen and training kitchen - all staffed by dedicated and professional teachers whose goal is to provide the finest quality education for Estonian young people.

The skills acquired at the Kuressaare Vocational School make an excellent base for life long learning.
